•Removes heat and toxins, cools the blood, and benefits the throat
For fevers and epidemic disorders including influenza and meningitis, mumps, and swollen throat conditions. Also effective in treating acute parotitis, erysipelas, and damp-heat jaundice.
Usage and Dosage
10 – 15g is decocted for oral use.
Notes Not to be used in patients with asthenic cold of the spleen and stomach.
Storage
Keep in a dry, ventilated place. Protect from mould and moths.

The dried rhizome or root of Malan, Baphicacanthus cusia (Nees) Bremek, is used as Banlangen in Southwest and South China. The rhizome is round with branches, greyish brown surface and expanded joints. The root is curved with branches, slender fibrous roots and bland flavour.
