ACTION
- Tonifies liver and kidneys, strengthens sinews and bones, expels wind-dampness
Treats soreness and pain in the lower back, knees and joints. Especially for elderly patients with yin-deficiency symptoms including chronic pain in the lower back and knee, weakness and soreness, joint pain, as well as atrophy of the sinews and joints. - Calms foetus
For restless foetus along with possible back pain and vaginal bleeding.
Treats flaccidity of extremities - Nourishes blood
For dry scaly skin due to blood deficiency. - Treats primary hypertension and hypertension of arteriosclerosis
Usage and Dosage
9–15 g is used in decoction for oral use.

The good one has reddish brown small tender stem and many leaves.
Professional Tips
The dry stem with branches of Hujisheng (Viscum coloratum (Komar.) Nakai) is from the same family. The surface of the stem is gold or yellowish green in colour with swollen nodes and 2–5 branches usually. It is slightly bitter and sticky when chewed.
