ACTION
- Dispels wind-dampness, opens the channels, relaxes the sinews
Treats all types of pain and cramp in the extremities including hot, cold, acute and chronic. - Clears asthenic heat
It is the only wind-dispelling herb that is not dry. For afternoon fever, low-grade fever, post-febrile disease, ‘steaming’ bone disorder. - Relieves jaundice due to dampness-heat
- Moistens the intestines and unblocks the bowels
For dry constipation.
Usage and Dosage
3-9 g is used in decoction for oral use.
Storage
Keep in a ventilated, dry place and protect from mould.
Note
Use with caution in the person with loose stool due to deficiency of the spleen.

Identifying Qinjiao and Longdancao (Radix Gentianae)
Similarities: Both can expel dampness, relieve fever and treat jaundice of dampness-heat type.
Differences: Qinjiao can expel wind and dampness without consumption of body fluid. It is for Bi-syndrome of wind-dampness type, hectic fever, heat in women due to pregnancy, and heat of infantile malnutrition. Longdancao is extremely bitter and cold, and indicated for hyperactivity of liver-fire.
